So finally I am ready to write about my recent DIY-s, so let’s start with the easier. I was made it in an hour according to The Essential Club youtube video. I have purchased 1,5m of silk fabric, 70cm waist rubber and the matching thread for this slip midi skirt:
Then I sewed together te two edges, whilst left a slip of 20 cm. Made the round from the rubber- sew it.
Finally sewn the edges + secured the rubber to be inside- at voilá.
I am sure this is not the last that I have made from The Essential Club items, so guys go for that channel:)
After my luxury suggestions and my wishlist, now it is time to share some DIY Christmas gifts, which I usually do every year or just this is the first time. Enjoy:
Photo Calendar/Photobook or Printed Photo: it is like a half DIY
It is very easy to make online software by Cewe, the most hardest thing is to collect and choose the photos to use for it, yeah it is require time, but all of my grandparents and my parents loves it, as we have nearly no photo printed. Tip: you can make also digital photo books or printed picture to the wall.
Do you know these Chinese cookies? So that is going to be similar and the gifts upto your budget. It is most ideal for your loved one, you can make monthly or weekly little gifts like the one on HIP2Save.
There is nothing better than having gifted something you have made on your own. Do you have talent in sewing, knitting, doing jewels etc. knit a scarf, do some ceramics, sew something like cotton pads (as me).
Bake or cook:
If you love cooking or baking, let’s shine your hidden talent. In the basic case I would to start with Ginger bread or Cinnanom sugar almonds, which is my absolute must have. Or just create your own spice mix…
I hope you have enjoyed. Merry Christmas baby!
P.S.: You might wonder why I did not suggest DIY cosmetics? First I have never ever done, second every people skin is different and third I am not a Chemist.
So I havewrote that I am on the way to use and buy less and being a bit more sustainable so here we go what I have done recently.
I sew a few cotton bags, three of them are made of an old white sheet, one more from the sheet, which lest after the pillow, which I made like 2 years ago and I have recycled a shirt from my Husband, which had a hole on one of the arm.
Package (less) free shopping
I have try to use a bit more packing free products, so I have purchased some lentil, peppers, bread, pasta and rice that was the easiest to do so far and I think I will just visit that store regually for the dry products for cooking.
Lush: I have tried their 7 to 3 pads during our holiday and I was missing it from my life so I went to repurchase it. In the mean while I have picked a naked sampoo with argan and two of the bath bombs: pumpkin and a black one.
I have been to so many second hand stores recently and I just did not find anything: most of them are from the UK, which is not sustainable at all (2000 km away)… I am just on the way to try some more vintage or a thrift store, luxury reseller store or site like Vestiare Collective abd maybe the Depop. Honestly, I am so unlucky with selling on Depop yet … haha. So I was not lucky as I used to be back in my college years:).
I think that is so far, I am going to make some reusble cotton pads soon in this week.
I did only one shopping day which will be in the haul of the month…
Here are some tips and trix for you, if you are on a budget for your big day decoration. This is the part of the planning where you can spend or save the most!
Firtsly, my 5 tips to save money on wedding decoration:
DIY-might be it takes longer time, but worst the effort.
Make a usage of the existing decor of the place.
Inspire on Pinterest, but do not owerdone in reality.
Use multitasking product like thank you cards as a nametag.
Buy the flowers by yourself and but them in vase
Our decoration was not perfect but beloved by us and our guests. We made mistakes like forgetting the popcorns for the popcorn bar at home, so just simply skipped it or lost the maching seatting chart…
So we used the room itself, walls:
heart shape halfy covered by flowers
David Austin crepp roses with our names
welcome desk and behind the main desk, but see the photos
Rounded for the guests with white table clothes, candle and mirror from the hotel. IKEA hack vase and confetties on the mirrors. Thank you cards was also their name cards, gifts: palinka-men and stonecrop-ladies. On the main table we have smaller vases with flowers and three extra for bridal bouquet and mom’s bouquests- and a bride- groom sign.
Even it was raining, we were luck enough to receive the welcome champagne and snack outside and even it was possible to take some photos. There we hosted our photo corner:
