The (low) Bikini edit

Hi lovelies,

I hope you all well and may be ready for the summer as the pademic periode was so long and might be not over yet. We are planning to go for a holiday despite so many people say us you are so crazy, but I am really stress out and fed up with the whole situation now. Yeah you might say, how she can go for a holiday if she is earning pretty badly: I have saved up for it since last year, I am tracking my spending so much and try to be frugal in a lot of way… and of course I have a husband, whose job did not effected on. Still I think I need to break out of this tepid situation and it might will help to improve my personal life goal, which I am also struggeling for nearly a year now. Unfortunatelly both my career and personal life has stranded so far. Yeah you can ask: why do not you find a new job? Since last August I was subordinated it to my personal goals, as the pademic appeared I tried to move on,but no luck and it made me to be more depressed, which affects on my body evenmore…

So back to the bikini business now, so I am not the kind of bikini person girl I love to get tanned without tanlines, so we always search for nude beaches or just to be able to get topless, but fortunatelly it is not always possible, so I have to keep a few swimsuit too. I wanted to buy a sustainable bikini, but it is a way too expensive, so I have decided to keep my oldies and buy a new from Calzedonia, which was in my June low buy haul.

  • Grey swimsuit with chains on the side from Oysho (2years)
  • Black triangle top with a v-cut and the tie-side brazilian Calzedonia
  • Blue-white striped Calzedonia
  • Yellow Calzedonia

I have left two black bottoms as when I am so pale I feel really uncomfortable in lighter colors. All the bottoms are brazilians if you have not tried them you should I am a fan of them for 8 years and they are the most comfy ones if you do not want more coverage.

I was thinking how many bikinis do I need for a summer holiday? I would say I do not need them at all, but people are more sexualized and not so open-minded so I need a few: 1-2 maybe. So I made a decision to keep my swimsuit as if we go to a Spa or Bath during the colder months, so I will not take it to a summer holiday at all. The black bikini is essential and to have at least an other. To tell you the truth I hate the stripped one’s top, but it was only 2 years so I have kept.

DIY Silk skirt

Hi lovelies,

So finally I am ready to write about my recent DIY-s, so let’s start with the easier. I was made it in an hour according to The Essential Club youtube video. I have purchased 1,5m of silk fabric, 70cm waist rubber and the matching thread for this slip midi skirt:

Then I sewed together te two edges, whilst left a slip of 20 cm. Made the round from the rubber- sew it.

Finally sewn the edges + secured the rubber to be inside- at voilá.

I am sure this is not the last that I have made from The Essential Club items, so guys go for that channel:)

Low buy haul June

Hi lovelies,

So finally I am coming with some haul, I know I was so bad did not posting at all in June, but I have to admit, sewing curtains are a bit more time consuming, specially that I had to do it for my mum too… after she saw ours, just asked if I can do hers as she would change some after having them for almost 20 years in the house (plus cats) so I made the hole living room arra for them, which was ca. 15 m of windows… and I did a silk skirt myself too- that will come in a DIY soon.

So I try to keep everything minimal and sustainable, so my only kinda beauty purchase this month was toothbrush from the Brand called Jordan. I am highly satisfied, as it is made of recycled plastic, soft and much more cheaper than our long-time favoured Curaprox. Okay, to be Honest I have not find any bamboo one with soft ér than medium brushes so that is why I did purchased a plastic one…

I have decluttered 10 pieces of Clothing, but did not purchased anything ;). Only I had to buy some underwear, but these were replacements of the oldies, I have also trashed 5 pants and a bra, which all were in really bad conditions. My other treatments was some bikini, but I just want to have a seperate post of it. Both of these were out of my budget , from the nameday gift money from my parents and grandparents :).

Low in May aka DIY

Hi lovelies,

As a hotelier I am having quite much of difficulties so far, so I was not in the mood to write blog posts at all, but I do not want to leave you without my monthly haul.

I have lost over 50% of my income since March and we are still suffering in the industry with our basic salary, but due to my methode I was still able to save in this month. We are really planning to go on a vacation in this summer since we are feed up with this whole #stayhome hysteria. Yeah, you can ask why do not you change job? Because even if I am applying noone calls or write back…and earning a shameful amount of money is a bit better than nothing.

So as I have much more time , which I am spending home I always having some creative thoughts and these lead me to create and create… so finally we have purchased our curtain cornices and some see through curtains and we did not ordered the mounting, neither the sewing as all will be done by us, while I am keeping the black-out curtains later during summer. I bought some marcames to continue doing these. Also the books of Mari Kondo to be able to master her methode. Regarding clothes I have purchased a cardigan and a linen cullotte second-hand, on the top of it I am sewing a warp dress, which I can show in a seperate upcoming post once I finished.

April low buy haul

Hi lovelies,

This is the end of an other month, a month when we were mostly locked down so we sent our money on a totally different way: more food and vitamins as we were at home a lot and had time to cook, also due to the Covid19 I had to focus on saving more money for the upcoming 3 months as my salary will be like 50% lower, which is pretty hard to every hospitality worker, but at least I have a job. Firstly I was pretty stressed out of the situation, but now I just let it go by settling a daily routine for myself and investing into my self by studying languages, hotel training (kind of boring so-so), sustainable fashion and business course.

So I was pretty much on the track, only sent 36% of my income on needs instead of the 50%, put 27% on saving account, but I can take even more on that, only send 9,9% on wants:).

Concerning to my wants I was sent some money on my husband’s Nicorette patches, because finally he started to quit smoking:), that is one thing that I am more than happy to support him. We have bought a couple of outdoor plants to the balconies- even more becoming a plant parent…

Skincare: new N.A.E. bio micellar water, I will see how is it work as I have not tired yet…

Makeup: I used to had this is black, now I was repurchased it in brown: the cheap favourite Trend it up No. 1 mascara

As I sent more time at home I realized I need a better mat than polifoam, so I was invest in a Manduka Yoga Mat, which due to arrive next till Tuesday.

So I was pretty much on a low buy side, of course I was looking for some sales or coupons online, but they was not on time at all (strictly according to my wishlist) and I wanted to buy a Sezane Gaspard cardigan secondhand and I constantly wrote to several people on Facebook Market place or Depop and noone answers???! that is crazy. I might need to try on Vestiare Collective, but sometimes people want to sell it for on an even higher than its new retail price, which is also crazy. I need to look for so more whites too.

White it up

Hi lovelies,

I know I have already posted about the trends of the upcoming season, however I just wanted to tell you my focus of clothing now: WHITE, yeah it is maybe a kind of wishlist too, but I do have some whites in my wardrobe already.

So WHITE have a million shade: Ecru, off white, cream etc. I think like me lots of you have some white in their wardrobe, specially tops. All white outfit looks more polished and makes us look rich and elegant. Normally I am into dark colours, but I have figured out the hand to toe monocome is more chic and the Spring-Summer is all about light colours.

BASICS:

  1. T-Shirt: I have a few whites, but I cannot recommend more the Everlane Cotton Crew.
  2. Bottom up Shirt or Shirt dress: I have to wear it to work, however I do have one at home too, but I would love to have a Shirt dress like this.
  3. Cami: I do own a v-cut mulberry silk cami from Massimo Dutti, but this Sezane one also a great alternative.
  4. White dress: I do have one oldie from Zara, but this is the one, which I should look for.

To add in 2020:

  1. Toursers or jeans or bermuda: anything straight and croped
  2. White trainers, specially from a sustainable brand like Veja
  3. Cardigan, which you can just wear on top of anything, when it gets chili.
  4. Crossbody bag: this part I do have, but if you look for one, Coccinelle Beat bag looks like a camerabag…

How you can spice it up?

Gold hoops

Layered gold necklances

Brown and beige accessories

I know it is pretty hard to buy secondhand (or thrift) now, as you can only get them online if it is coming from a company… so if you buy new try a sustainable or local brand.

Tide up your home- Bedroom

Hi lovelies,

This is my final one of the tide up serie, I hope you had did the same while you should stay home to be safe. It did not took me a full day, but I still think I have to work on it so much: I would need some boxes that fits, new velvet hangers and of course the rest of the home decoration like plants, curtains and a rug. So home wishlist coming soon.

Firstly -I did my husband side: chest of drawers and the wardrobe and shift his clothes to Spring, but I did not decluttered anything – only a half pair of socks – as it is his own responsibility, so just asked him to do so 8-10 items.

Than I was worked on my own belongings: I have made my intentory I own 93 items without nighties, swimwear, underwear and loungewear, which can be much for a minimalist… I have figuered out my year arround basics and the seasonal items and for the first time I only decluttered a few, but I think I will have much more specially for the summer… but that can be a whole seperate post. I think I should check my clothes more frequentely an update according to the weather, so May again.

Then I made the other storages in the bedroom: under the bed and on the side of the bed and of course the window.

Tide up your home- Outside

Hi lovelies,

The weather is still pretty bad, so I still have to skip the bedroom… I neither have a Spring feeling at all to be honest, even it is nearly April, by the time it will be posted it is.

So last week I did the entryway and our outside storage, as we most not really go out of the flat I did not have the opportunity to buy what we really need to the balconies or to the outside storage…

Our balcony opens from our bedroom, so I washed it all: the floor, window and the fence. We do have only a tiny pine tree on now so later on we should plant some flowers there.

In our entryway there are not some many things, as it is an L shape I just started the most inner side the built-in wardrobe. On the top we do store our luggages and some decoration stuffs, middle are the coats and suits, bottom shoes in their boxes, tools and the hoover. So check my outwear and some shoe collection coming soon… stay turned.

Then I have cleaned our shoe cupboard, mirror and the other small built-in storage too. I know we would need a bit more plants to decorate a bit, just yet we did not had time to. So I was washed the entry door too and tomorrow is the turn of the outsidestorage.

That was a big fail as it shelves have to be replaced and also to do a new door and lock, in addition most of the stuffs are belongs to my hubby, so I was unable to do it alone…

Finally bedroom coming up, so stay turned.

Outwear collection 2020

Hi lovelies,

As for the Low Buy Year I do think we should first check what we own and consider to relove them and only afterwards to purchase something used or new. So this is another inventory again: all of my coats and jackets- yeah I do not consider blazers here, as they are multitasking things… I am also going to exclude my two ski jackets as they are at my parent’s house. I think I am pretty good at basics and it is probably a list of all the outwears that everyone should own, if you live in a four seasons country. Most of them are sites in my wardrobe for ages, and they are affordable, which I might going to spice up a bit, but I do not think I would need more…

Let’s start from the warmest to the lightest:

  1. Puff Navy Blue Winter coat by Zara: I think I have bought it like 5-6 years ago, when they first came out with this style, which is in between the jackets and the regular knee length coats. It is perfectly covers hips, which I tend to be cold during winter.
  2. Wool Camel Coat by Promod: probably the most expensive Promod item I have ever seen, but for sure the one, which I have every purchased from them 3-4 years ago. It is difinitely looks much more expensive than it was (ca. 145 EUR). Straight cut with one bottom on the front, elegant and statement winter piece.
  3. Wool blend checked jacket by Orsay: I think it is over 10 years old and because of the wool it is much more durable than my sister’s same time purchased one. It is with a belt, now I rarely wear, but I think I should keep it and of course both Camel and this I should take to the dry cleaning, which is not that easy now…
  4. Leather jacket by Mango: it is my newest one, might remember it was in a haul a few months ago. It is timeless bicker leather jacket, which I love to wear with casual outfits or over a nice girly dress…
  5. Trench coat by Promod: I have it since my last was stolen in 2010 and might be it would be nice to have a bit more expensive one or maybe an other navy blue one, but just like this colour so much.
  6. Runner jacket by Oysho: mostly use it for sports, but sometimes as a bomber jackets too, ca. 2 years old.
  7. Jeans jacket: brand is called Big Fire or something and it is a truly old piece, most probably the oldest in my wardrobe, I was 13 or 14 when I have thrift it in a second-hand, since that I have worn it every Summer and in sunny weather over my dresses and I hope to keep it for so long, because it is the perfect jeans jacket in mid-wash blue and as it is getting worn just looking better and better…

Which outwear I should buy soon? Is there anything missing?

March Low Buy Haul

Hi lovelies,

March here, which means that it is my third #lowbuy check and haul of 2020.

If you remember I have over spend a bit in February, but I do not mind I had to happend to be able to draw my attention and focus on my goals more. In this month I made an investment: I am going on a course to become an official TOUR GUIDE, so I have paid in once the fee of this license course, which will end in August/September. I know this business situation is not the best now, but I am positive and hoping the best as soon as possible.

This month , as we had to sent at home most of our time, I was deeply into my declutter and tide up serie, so I rather focused on items that I have already have and items that I can sell and of course I have listed a long (and expensive) home wishlist, which I will introduce you soon too.

So what about my budgeting?

Needs (50%) – as Covid-19 appeared in Hungary, most of the people went to shopping, which I wanted to be smart, but I am also stocking up a bit, so I send 17% more than I was budgeted as I had to cook a way much more than previously to avoid my husband going to stores and restaurants while he is working. Even if I am those lucky ones still having a job, we have losen most of our benefits which a hotel can offer…

Savings (20%) – so again my saving was lower, only 35% than what it should be as I had to make an investment in myself as it is above mentioned.

Wants (30%) – as the above mentioned things had happened I only sent 15% of my planned budget, just thrifted a jeans at Promod in the beginning of the  month: it is a mom jeans style in a light blue wash, called Marcel. Did purchased some macrame yarn to be able to make some plant holders. We have bought an air moisturizer too. (Halfly from gift card).
